The original story arc was Leslie’s struggle to turn the pit in Lot 48 into a park. After the Re Tool going into season two, the pit was filled in, but the idea to build a park was dropped almost completely by season three as the show picked up other storylines. In-universe this is because the department’s budget, already too small to support the project, was drastically cut. During the camping episode, Leslie says that they couldn’t continue turning the lot into a park because Chris wanted the next project to bring in revenues. The lot remains unmentioned for two years afterwards, until April suggests making it into a dog park in season five’s “Leslie vs. An impromptu groundbreaking occurs in Ann’s last episode, then the Time Skip reveals Pawnee Commons was completed shortly after the end of Season 6. Through Season 4, Chris takes Ron on a series of activities that turn out to be incognito interviews for the position of Assistant City Manager. Ron seems intrigued by the opportunity to slash even more items from the budget, but at the very end of the season Ron ultimately declines the position. Billy Eichner Craig Middlebrooks Billy Eichner is the former office manager of Eagleton’s parks department, the equivalent of Donna’s position in Pawnee. In the episode “Doppelgangers”, he and other Eagleton employees were brought in to Pawnee’s offices after the Pawnee—Eagleton city merger. Craig is the one former Eagleton Parks employee not laid off after the merger, and continues to work at the Pawnee offices under the title of “Associate Administrator”.

The Christian Association was formed in by a small group of Methodist ministers who became disenchanted with the Methodist doctrine of the time. Elias Smith, found that farming in Ontario was not profitable, and in decided to come West, where land was practically free, and sod had never been turned in many places. They did not come with the intention of converting anyone to their beliefs.
When word got out of their plans, four more couples with their families decided to join the Smiths, then six young single men, looking for a lark, were added. Of the group some were adherents of the Christian Association, but the young men themselves did not belong although their parents did. None of them came as missionaries. They all settled in the Beaverlodge area in the Peace River Country.
There are seven bound volumes and eight booklets of newsletters. They originated with Rev. Nelson Burns in , and contain the teachings of the Christian Association, and articles and obituaries of members, including those in the south Peace.
